Ghost town, Johnsonville, CT in East Haddam is a few miles North of the Goodspeed Opera house. Johnsonville was once a thriving mill community that turned to a Victorian Era attraction. Around 1994, the attraction was shut down and abandoned for good. Most of the buildings in the town were built in the 1800's and are still in fantastic condition considering how old they really are.
I took a trip to this town back in May of 2014 and the experience was amazing! The town is on a small street that not many cars drive on and the buildings are right on the road which made it easy to find.
If you are looking to find this old, rustic town here are the directions. However, there are 'no trespassing' signs so please enter at your own risk.
Directions : Johnsonville Road, East Haddam. Off route 149 near Moodus end of town. Enjoy these pictures we took on our trip to the town.
